Light Sketch Series 1: Feb 14th

It is interesting to note the change in light and brightness of light in the same space. A simple movement or angling of camera can create this. Keeping the flash on my camera and in a brightly lit area within this space creates an extension of illumination on the frosted glass.

The interior space i chose to record throughout the semester is the Meditation Room located in the EUC. These pictures were taken Jan 31st at 3p.m.

The lighting used within the space is natural lighting as well as fluorescent lighting. The fluorescent lighting is washed out by the natural lighting that shines in and casts shadows on the dark surfaces.
Light bends as it hits surfaces and changes throughout the day due to the position that the sun moves to. Reflective surfaces causes color contrast with dark and light neutral colors.
This particular space is used for gaining access to different levels of the building as well as serve as a point of exit. There is also a visible 2 story clerestory store front window above the door.
